You are entitled to three years of Danish classes. If you are living in the city of Frederiksberg (kommune) the three years begin one month after you have arrived in Denmark, have a Danish social security number (personnummer) and have been registered in a Danish address. It depends on where you live. In some municipalities the starting date counts from the first day, you sign up for courses.

Please note that the starting point applies whether you actually start Danish courses or not.

An extension may be granted if you have been on maternity leave, sick leave or leave due to employment that has prevented you from attending Danish classes. The job in question must have been unsubsidised. Documentation is required.
